Founded in 1921, this ashrama has reconstructed the Sarisha village, mainly by providing education and skill development for empowerment of rural poor in general and women in particular around Diamond Harbour II Block.

Activities:

  1. A boys’ higher secondary school (class 5 to 12) and a hostel for boys.
  2. A girls’ higher secondary school (class 5 to 12) and a hostel for girls. It has a technical section that train girls in tailoring.
  3. Four junior basic schools (pre-primary to class 4).
  4. Two Primary Teachers’ Training Institutes (PTTI) for women.
  5. coaching centre for students.
  6. Two units of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and a unit of Vivekananda Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
  7. Two public libraries with 24,003 books.
  8. Four values education centres.
  9. Vocational training in handicraft, tailoring, spoken English, etc.
  10. A homeopathic dispensary and twenty-two medical camps.
  11. Sixteen health awareness camps.
  12. A study circle.
  13. Welfare activities: Providing food, clothes, educational kits, and pecuniary and educational aid
